My Friend's Wedding

This summer I had the honor of being the maid of honor at my friend's wedding. It was a great experience being in front of the camera for a change. It has been a while since I was in a wedding party and I forgot how it was. Let me tell you that I understand now what it's like standing on the ground with the thinnest stilettos while sinking. So I had to try to be on my toes so that I wouldn't get stuck in the mud, all the while smiling and trying to make sure my arm doesn't look fat. (Ladies, you with me on this one?) So ladies I feel your pain. All kidding aside we had a lovely time and Tara and the crew from studio west did a fantastic job with the pictures. The day passed by so quickly. Here are some photos that were snapped with my little Sony Powershot. I will post the professional pictures once I get the copies... but until then... Enjoy!

This shot was taken in the limo right before the bride walked into the church. You can't really tell that she was nervous and she hid it well. He he.

This is a shot of all the bridesmaids. We have been friends since high school and it was such a great experience to be able to be together and support Daniela on her special day. We also really loved our dresses and flowers!

That's me hogging all the dessert! What's a girl to do when it's all there in front of you! I just can't resist.

Weddings 2009

I'm so excited about next year, and I'm going to use this blog more often to let you in on what we are all about and what we are up to. I've been an exhibitor at two wedding shows this September and the response has been phenomenal. I've had a blast talking with couples that are planning their wedding. I'm so glad to see that couples are planning a year in advance. Sometimes I get asked, "When is a good time to start looking for a photographer?" I always say that it's never too early to book your photographer, since I get emails from brides that are looking at the last minute with three months before their wedding and they are getting frustrated that the photographers they are falling in love with are booked up for their day.

My advice is... If you really like the work and the person behind the camera you need to secure your wedding date and venue first, then the next thing you should try and knock off your list is booking your photographer. Hey, I've gotten two emails from brides who are getting married in September of 2010 already over the past two weeks.

Thank you to all the couples that stopped by my booth to chat. Feel free to drop me an email and let's get the ball rolling. I would love to schedule a meeting and talk about your needs and vision for your big day.

My assistant Sanja and I at the National Wedding Show:

Before I end this post... I want you to watch the blog for some upcoming news that I'm working on behind the scenes. I'm working hard on making some changes to make 2009 even better than 2008. I'm grateful for the wonderful clients I had the chance to work with this past year and I'm looking forward to working with them again as they move forward into their new life as Husband & Wife.

I'm looking forward to the long weekend to spend some time with the people that mean so much to me in my life and I hope everyone reading this has a great long weekend surrounded with the people that they love.

Regards,

Milena
